There are several different ways you can pay tuition. I accept Venmo, Paypal, Cash or Checks.
Tuition is due the first day of the month that your child is scheduled to attend. The number of days in session for the month are calculated, and the full amount for the month is due that day. Each month, at least a week in advance, a calendar will come home for the following month with your child’s scheduled days. The tuition amount due and the due date will be on that calendar.
Nope! I only charge for days that I am open. Each month, the number of days your child is scheduled to attend will be used to calculate tuition for that month. If I have a scheduled closure, such as for a holiday break like Christmas Break or Spring Break, those days are not calculated into your tuition. If I have to close unexpectedly, such as for an emergency or illness or weather closure, and tuition for the month has already been paid, then that day will be reimbursed back to you in the form of a tuition discount the following month.
I follow the school district schedule. This means that if the schools are open, I am open. If the schools are closed, I am closed. This includes all holidays breaks, scheduled days out, and weather closures. There may be a few days throughout the year that there will be an event at my own children’s school that I will close to attend (an example would be my son’s 8th grade graduation in May). If this happens, I will give as much advanced notice as possible. There is an annual calendar in the Calendars & Newsletters section that has all the days in the school year on it for you to see. It is aligned with the PSD calendar.
I have my hours wrapped around my children’s school hours so that I am available to them before and after school and for transportation if needed. If PSD declares a late start, then my preschool will also have a late start. The times will depend on what times PSD starts, and will be communicated to you as soon as PSD communicates them to us. Both of my children are at WMHS, so those hours would dictate my hours. Typically PSD declares a 2 hour late start, so as a guess, I would say drop-off would be at 10:30. As far as tuition goes, the reimbursement would be for 1/2 day in the event of a late start, so $25 off the next month’s tuition. (2 hours is not half a day at preschool but the math is just easier this way)
If I am open, yes. I charge for the days I am open. Because I have a limited amount of spots available for kids- the max on my license is 8- and I cannot replace your child with another child for that one day they are gone, you will still be charged tuition for the day even if your child doesn’t attend. Your tuition pays for your child to have a spot in my preschool. Your tuition isn’t for daily attendance.
Bathroom independent means that a child is able to handle all of their bathroom needs on their own. They know when they need to go and can get themselves there. They can get clothes down to go, wipe themselves, and get their clothes up without needing an adult to go with them. I am the only person here- I do not have any staff or helpers with me- and I am not able to stop every time a child needs to go to the bathroom in order to assist them, especially with up to 8 children here at a time. Being bathroom independent is required so that I can manage our preschool day without having to also manage the bathroom needs of the children in attendance.
Nope! Lunch and afternoon snack are provided for all children who attend. I don’t allow outside food to come in with children for a couple of reasons. The most important one is that other children may have allergies to some foods. By providing the food for the kids, I can make sure that kids who have allergies do not come into contact with those foods without having to worry about what food is coming in the door with kids. The other reason is because bringing in outside food can create issues for kids who want each other’s food instead of what they have. I know school allow children to pack a lunch and a snack. Schools also have the space and the staffing to manage and monitor food situations around kids with allergies. Since I am a one woman show, it is just easier if I provide food for the kids and all outside food stays outside.
On the first day of school, your child will be given a folder that they need to bring back each day. Every day they will give it to me in the morning and I will give it back to them at pack up time. Each day your child needs to come with a backpack and in that backpack they need to have a full change of clothes- undies, socks, pants, and shirt- in case of an accident or a mess.
Nope! We have a plethora of school supplies here, so there is not need to provide your child with any supplies.
If you have any other questions that I didn’t cover here, please feel free to reach out via text or email!
